Georgia National Fair
“Life Ain’t Fair”
In collaboration with the Atlanta Journal Constitution and University of Georgia’s visual journalism program, this documentation of the Georgia National Fair seeks to highlight the deeper meaning of this annual event.
From wandering carnies to young families, the Georgia National Fair was much more than funnel cake and ferris wheels; every inch of the fairground was overflowing with stories of love, loss, redemption, and human interest. A ride operator overcoming a lifelong battle with addiction, a blue-collar worker who saved for months to provide a beautiful experience for his children, a senior citizen reliving the thrill of youth on a rollercoaster. Every visitor and every moment aided in defining the spirit of this annual event.
